A Faster Way to Maintain Employee Security Access

Do you struggle with updating employees' access in Security Profiles? Try utilizing these features to make it simpler next time you need to grant security access to an employee.

1. User Groups
User groups define password access for employees in a certain position or department. If you want to update access for all employees in a user group, simply update access for the entire user group.

Adding someone to a user group only takes a few clicks:
  • In Security Access, press F7.
  • Check the Assign User Group box and select a user group.
  • Press F12 to apply.
  • Select the Options in the User Group Settings window and press F12 to update.

2. Clone
This option allows you to copy exact access from one employee to another, saving time if, for instance, a new employee starts that should have the same access as a current employee.
  • In Security Access, press F10.
  • Enter the user ID of the employee you want to clone.
  • Press F12 to clone.
3. Security Profile Comparison
This option allows you to quickly update user IDs and user groups by locating and comparing specific security items.
  • From the Tools menu, access Security Profile Comparison.
  • Enter the user IDs for the employees in User 1 and User 2. You could also compare user groups if you'd like.
  • Press F12 to compare. This displays only features with different access.
  • Locate and change any features in the list for User 1 and/or User 2.

Updating users' security access doesn't have to be a time-consuming process. Take advantage of these features next time you need to add a new employee or update a current one's settings.
